Dr. Crystal Hill Morton

Dr. Crystal Hill Morton is President of the Benjamin Banneker Association and an associate professor of Mathematics Education at Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis.  At IUPUI, she also serves as Coordinator of the Urban Education Studies Ph.D. program.

Her passion for providing Black girls and young women transformative learning experiences drives her research, teaching, and service. Focusing on the mathematics and personal development of Black girls and young women, Dr. Morton founded Girls STEM Institute. Girls STEM Institute aims to transform communities by empowering girls of color to become leaders, innovators, and educators who use STEM as a tool for personal and social change.

Dr. Morton holds a B.A. in Mathematics, a M.A.T. in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
